Terms of Service

KovaVerse is an educational platform for South African children aged 6–18, operated by KovaVerse (Pty) Ltd (“KovaVerse”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use KovaVerse.

• Accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older.
• Children do not create their own accounts. All child profiles are managed by the parent account.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.
• One parent account may have multiple child profiles.

You agree not to:

• Use KovaVerse for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any South African law.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the platform.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
• Misuse the sync code system (e.g., applying another child's assessment results).
• Sell, resell, or sublicense access to the platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice.

• All learning content, missions, city maps, characters, graphics, and code are owned by KovaVerse (Pty) Ltd or our licensors. All rights reserved.
• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
• Your child's learning data (mission responses, XP, progress) belongs to you. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

KovaVerse uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to evaluate handwritten answers. The AI evaluates responses and immediately discards the image — no handwriting is stored. AI evaluations are designed to be supportive and educational. They do not constitute professional academic assessment.

AI-generated feedback may occasionally be imperfect. If you believe a mission result is incorrect, contact us and we will review it manually.

We aim to keep KovaVerse available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, release updates, or temporarily suspend the service without prior notice. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime.

The platform requires an internet connection for syncing and unlocking new content. Core missions may be available offline on the mobile app once downloaded.

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, KovaVerse is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you in any month will not exceed the subscription fees you paid in that month.

KovaVerse is an educational supplement, not a replacement for formal schooling. We make no guarantees about academic outcomes.

We may update these terms or the platform at any time. We will notify you by email of any material changes to these terms. Continued use of KovaVerse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

We may also add, change, or remove features of the platform at any time. If we discontinue a paid feature, we will offer a pro-rated refund or equivalent replacement.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa. If you have a consumer dispute, you may also approach the National Consumer Commission or the relevant ombud.
